| Obverse description | The vignette at left presents the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong, rendered in intaglio against a purple and lilac guilloche underprint, with a secondary tower visible beside it and a chrysanthemum motif to the right of centre. The denomination "50" appears in large numerals at the lower left and upper right corners, with a clear watermark window occupying the far right of the note. Bilingual inscriptions in Chinese and English identify the issuing branch and carry the promise-to-pay clause, date, and the General Manager's signature. |
