| Obverse description | Black intaglio print on cream and orange underprint. A central vignette occupies the upper portion, with the British Royal Arms supported by a lion and a unicorn beneath a crown, flanked by the inscription 'INCORPORATED BY ROYAL CHARTER 1862'. Large numeral '50' counters appear at left and right, with 'FIFTY DOLLARS' repeated vertically along both side borders.
