Reverse descriptionYour coin’s reverse depicts Panlong, the auspicious water dragon of Chinese mythology, as a vibrant and powerful creature writhing in a tumultuous sea, where its tail is raised high above the crashing waves. Flowing movements are emphasized throughout the design, from the tail fins that flow like banners in a heavy wind, to the mane that resembles seaweed swaying in the current. Plated with gold, Panlong’s coiled body is adorned with elements inspired by traditional Chinese depictions of aquatic scenery, including: a bird that symbolizes freedom and happiness; a butterfly symbolizing love, immortality and rebirth; carp/koi, which represents prosperity and abundance; and the lotus, the flowering symbol of purity and harmony.
