| Obverse description | Central device features the Hawk of Qureish, serving as the coat of arms of the Federation of Arab Republics, displayed facing with wings spread. The legend above reads the name of the issuing state in Arabic, identifying it as the Libyan Arab Republic. The dates appear in both the Hijri (1395) and Gregorian (1975) calendar systems, rendered in Eastern Arabic numerals.
