| Obverse description | At center, the episcopal coat of arms of the Bishop of Urgell, rendered in fine detail with mitre and croziers flanking the shield, divides the face value '50 D.' to left and right in large numerals. Below the arms, a multi-line Latin inscription arranged in five lines across the field commemorates the Synodal Constitution of 1748 and identifies Bishop Sebastiano de Victoria as Supreme Prince of the Valleys of Andorra. The dates '1748-1998' appear in the exergue, marking the 250th anniversary of the constitution. |

| Reverse description | A finely rendered enthroned Madonna seated frontally upon an ornate Gothic throne, nursing the Christ Child upon her left knee, set within an elaborate architectural Gothic arcade with tall pinnacles and columns forming the background. The composition is rendered in high relief in the Romanesque-Gothic tradition of the Virgin of Meritxell, patron of Andorra. The legend 'MAGNA DOMINA VRGELITANA' is inscribed in Latin along the lower rim of the field. |
