Obverse description The quartered coat of arms of Andorra occupies the central field, surrounded by elaborate baroque scrollwork cartouche. The shield displays the mitre and crozier of the Bishop of Urgel in the upper-left quarter, the vertical pales of the Count of Foix in the upper-right and lower-left quarters, and two passant bulls of the Viscount of Béarn in the lower-right quarter, surmounted by a fleur-de-lis finial. The denomination 50 DINERS appears as a curved legend in the upper field, and the date 1963 is inscribed in large numerals along the lower field. The motto VIRTVS VNITA FORTIOR is engraved in the lower portion of the cartouche beneath the shield. A beaded border encircles the entire design.
