| Additional information |
Issued to mark the death of King Hussein I in February 1999 and timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of UNICEF's partnership with Jordan, this piece was part of a broader commemorative program the Hashemite Kingdom had used throughout Hussein's reign to maintain diplomatic visibility through numismatic channels. Jordan's commemorative gold issues from this period were produced in limited numbers primarily for collector and diplomatic distribution, rarely entering anything resembling general circulation.
