| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing portrait bust of King Hussein bin Talal rendered in high relief, depicting the monarch in a suit and tie with finely detailed hair and facial features. The Arabic legend is divided into two vertical columns flanking the effigy: to the right, reading downward, the king's name and titles, and to the left, the full title of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. A fine beaded border encircles the entire design. The engraving, attributed to Geoffrey Colley, reflects a naturalistic and dignified portrait style characteristic of mid-20th-century commemorative coinage. |
