Obverse description The obverse presents an intaglio portrait of Saddam Hussein at right center against a light tan guilloche underprint, with Arabic inscriptions and serial numbers in Eastern Arabic numerals at left and right. A vignette of the Al-Shaheed Monument in Baghdad is rendered in the lower left quadrant, with Arabic text above and below. The denomination numeral '٥٠' appears in a geometric cartouche at lower right, framed by ornate arabesque borders.

Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a large intaglio vignette of two Assyrian lamassu (winged bull statues) flanking a standing human figure, rendered in warm brown tones against a finely detailed guilloche background. To the right, an elaborate circular rosette medallion in rust and gold tones provides a decorative counterpoint. The English inscription 'CENTRAL BANK OF IRAQ' runs along the upper border, with the denomination stated as 'Fifty Dinars' in English at lower center and the numeral '50' in bold type at lower right.
