Obverse description The national coat of arms of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia (1943–1963 version) occupies the central field, depicting five flaming torches bound together, symbolising the federation's constituent nations. The arms are encircled by a wreath of wheat ears tied with a ribbon bearing the founding date 29·XI·1943. The peripheral legend in Latin script reads the full official state name around the upper arc, with the founding date incorporated into the lower portion of the wreath.
