The Canadian Bank Note Company supplied much of Latin America's paper currency through the mid-twentieth century, and Nicaragua was a steady client. This 2007-dated issue on paper — at a moment when Nicaragua's neighbors were already migrating to polymer — reflects a deliberate procurement choice, not a technical limitation. The Banco Central had tested polymer formats in other denominations and opted against it here.
The "Printed: 30.04.1945" date in the catalog data is almost certainly a database error — that predates the Banco Central de Nicaragua's founding by nearly two decades.
