Reverse description The reverse is entirely typographic in design, with all legends arranged in horizontal lines across the field within a plain inner border. The circular legend SHAWNEETOWN SESQUICENTENNIAL arcs boldly around the upper periphery, while SOUVENIR MONEY curves along the lower border. The central field carries the trade token inscriptions in multiple lines: GOOD FOR / 50¢ / IN TRADE / REDEEMABLE AT THE / FIRST NATIONAL BANK / SHAWNEETOWN, ILL. / UNTIL NOON, JULY 1 / 1960. Two small pellets flank the lower portion of the inner legend, serving as decorative separators. The denomination 50¢ is rendered in a noticeably larger font size, emphasizing the token's face value.
