| Obverse description | The Armorial Ensign of Sri Lanka occupies the central field, depicting a golden lion passant holding a sword in its right forepaw, set within a circular roundel surrounded by a decorative border of petals. Above the roundel, a Dhamma Chakra (eight-spoked wheel) is prominently displayed. At the base, a traditional Sinhalese pot of abundance (punkalasa) rests on a decorative plinth, flanked by a sprig of leaves on each side representing the Bo tree and the sun and moon symbols. The entire device is rendered in fine relief with intricate detailing consistent with the national coat of arms. |
