| Obverse description | Brown-toned note with an ornate guilloche border and floral corner medallions each bearing the denomination in Chinese characters. A central circular vignette presents a detailed intaglio view of a traditional Chinese pagoda and temple complex set among trees. Below the vignette, a rectangular panel carries the bank name in Chinese (江蘇省農民銀行) flanked by scroll work, with the large denomination characters 伍角 set within an elaborate lobed guilloche cartouche in the lower half. A red serial number appears at the top centre, and a multi-column Chinese text clause at the foot states the exchange ratio. |

The numeral 50 is set in a large ornate cartouche at centre, with FIFTY CENTS in a solid banner immediately below. The lower panel contains a printed signature above the title MANAGER with GOVERNOR printed to the right, a red serial number, and the year 1936 at the foot. Corner medallions each bear the numeral 50. |
