The .9999 fine silver standard used here is a step above the .999 fineness common to most bullion and collector issues — four-nines purity was historically reserved for refinery bars, not struck coins. The Royal Canadian Mint began applying it more broadly to numismatic pieces in the 2010s, partly as a differentiator in an increasingly crowded global collector-coin market. At 9.37 grams, this piece sits well below standard bullion weights, placing it squarely in the numismatic rather than investment category.
