Obverse description The national coat of arms of Guyana is depicted centrally, featuring a quartered shield with wavy barry lines and a Canje Pheasant in the base quarter, surmounted by a helmet and an Amerindian headdress as the crest. Two jaguars serve as supporters on either side of the shield, each holding a pick and a sugar cane stalk respectively. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto ONE PEOPLE ONE NATION ONE DESTINY. The circular legend OUR PEOPLE - OUR MOST PRECIOUS ASSET arcs around the upper field, with the issuer name BANK OF GUYANA and the date flanked by pellets appearing in the lower field.
