| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Belize in the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing a paddle, crossed axes and saw, and a sailing ship, supported by two bare-chested woodcutters, one holding an axe and the other a wooden club, standing on a ground of green vegetation. A mahogany tree rises above the shield, and a scrolled ribbon below bears the Latin motto SUB UMBRA FLOREO. The country name BELIZE appears as the upper legend, and the date is inscribed below the shield. The entire design is encircled by an olive wreath and a beaded border. |
