Obverse lettering SOUTH AFRICA 1969 T.S.
Reverse description The numeral '50' dominates the right-centre field in large, bold characters. To the left and centre, a naturalistic composition depicts two arum lilies (Zantedeschia aethiopica) with broad spathe leaves at varying heights, accompanied by an agapanthus (African lily) plant in bloom rising on a tall stem to the upper centre of the field. The engraver's initials 'T.S.' are incused at the lower centre, just above the rim. The legend '50 CENTS' appears along the lower periphery in Latin lettering.
