Released in 2020 as part of a wave of Allied remembrance issues produced for Pacific-region commemorative markets, this piece originates from a mint program with no meaningful connection to Solomon Islands' own wartime history — despite the islands having been among the most heavily contested ground in the Pacific Theater, particularly during the Guadalcanal campaign of 1942–43. The Central Bank's name lends official status, but these are collector-market issues, struck for export rather than domestic circulation.
