Additional information

Issued under the Royal Canadian Mint's coloured coin program, which had been running since the 1999 holly 25-cent piece that pioneered selective color application on circulating-format coins. By 2006 the butterfly subseries had become one of the more commercially successful natural history sets the Mint produced, with individual releases selling out well before their official close dates.
