(Translation: Elizabeth II Queen by the grace of God)
Reverse description The reverse presents a finely detailed, high-relief depiction of a seahorse (Hippocampus) oriented vertically at centre, its snout facing upper left, with intricate engraving capturing the creature's characteristic bony rings, dorsal fin, pectoral fin, and curled tail. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 50 CENTS appears in two lines to the lower left of the central device and the date 2014 to the lower right. The engraver's initials 'ED' for Marcus Hallam appear near the bottom of the field. The naturalistic rendering of the seahorse is executed with exceptional sculptural precision against a polished proof field.
