Reverse description The reverse features two Gray Jays (Perisoreus canadensis) depicted in dynamic flight amid bare winter branches, rendered in finely detailed relief by engraver Sheldon Beveridge. The upper bird is shown with wings and tail fully spread in a landing or display posture, while the lower bird glides with wings outstretched to the left, capturing the species' characteristic agility. The Latin binomial Perisoreus canadensis is inscribed in italics along the lower-center field, with CANADA appearing prominently along the bottom rim. The denomination 50 CENTS and the date 1995 are inscribed vertically along the right side of the design.
