Reverse description The full achievement of the Royal Arms of Canada occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing the arms of England, Scotland, Ireland, and France in the first three quarters, with a sprig of three maple leaves on a white ground in the fourth quarter, supported by a lion rampant guardant to the dexter and a unicorn passant to the sinister. Above the shield, a crowned lion passant guardant stands upon a wreath of the royal crest, flanked by the Union Flag and the fleur-de-lis flag on either side. The motto scroll below reads "A MARI USQUE AD MARE" (From sea to sea), surrounded by botanical emblems of the four founding nations. The divided date "20 23" appears above the arms at the upper periphery, with the legend "CANADA" to the left and "50 CENTS" to the right, both arcing along the rim within a beaded border.
