Reverse description The full Arms of Canada are centrally displayed, featuring the quartered shield with the royal arms of England, Scotland, Ireland, and France, surmounted by the Royal Crown and supported by the lion and unicorn, with 24-karat gold plating applied to the armorial bearings to highlight their heraldic detail. The date 2015 is split in two parts flanking the upper portion of the arms. The inscription CANADA appears to the left of the shield and 50 CENTS to the right, all within a plain round field. The reverse was engraved by Thomas Shingles and presents a bold, formally composed heraldic design befitting a commemorative issue.
