Reverse description A naturalistic depiction of a Clouded Sulphur butterfly (Colias philodice) rendered in selective gold coloring, shown with wings folded and perched upon a white clover blossom in the right field. Additional clover flowers and trifoliate leaves fill the lower register, all finely engraved in high relief against a mirror proof field. The date 2004 appears in the upper field above the butterfly, and the engraver's initials ST are incused in the lower right field. The butterfly's wing venation and markings are rendered with exceptional botanical and entomological accuracy.
