| Reverse description | The reverse, engraved by Cosme Saffioti, depicts two beluga whales (Delphinapterus leucas) in their natural Arctic habitat: a large adult whale and a younger individual are shown swimming underwater in the lower and central field, rendered in high relief against a mirror-like proof background. A stylized waterline separates the aquatic scene from an above-surface vignette showing a third beluga surfacing near a rocky Arctic shoreline with icebergs in the upper field.
