| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the sixth definitive portrait by Jody Clark, depicting the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara and a pearl necklace. The legend ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 50 CENTS appears at the lower right and the silver content specification 1/2oz 9999 Ag at the lower left. The engraver's initials JC appear in small relief near the base of the portrait. The design is rendered in high relief against a highly polished mirror field. |
