Reverse description The Australian Commonwealth Coat of Arms rendered in the style of the original 1966 round fifty-cent coin design by Stuart Devlin. The shield, supported by a kangaroo to the left and an emu to the right, is surmounted by the seven-pointed Commonwealth Star; the supporters' bodies are entwined with elaborate decorative scrollwork that extends throughout the field. The large numeral 50 is prominently displayed in the lower portion of the design, with the letters SD flanking the numeral as the designer's initials.
