| Obverse description | The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupies the centre of the obverse field, depicting the Queen in right-facing profile wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara and a pearl drop earring. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear beneath the truncation of the neck. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' and 'AUSTRALIA' are inscribed along the upper periphery, while the lower portion of the coin bears the weight and fineness designation '1/2 OZ 999 SILVER', the date '2012', and the denomination '50 CENTS', all arranged along the lower rim. |
