| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a highly detailed central vignette of a competitive swimmer in mid-stroke, rendered with exceptional sculptural relief against a stylised water background, enclosed within a dotted elliptical border. Surrounding this central image, arranged in a continuous band around the field, are pictograms representing the various sports contested at the XXI Commonwealth Games. The inscription 'Gold Coast 2018' appears in a distinctive stylised script above the swimmer, with 'XXI Commonwealth Games' inscribed across the lower portion of the central vignette. The denomination '50' is prominently displayed at the base of the design, flanked by additional sporting pictograms. |

| Additional information |
The Gold Coast Commonwealth Games series, issued by the Royal Australian Mint ahead of the April 2018 Games on Queensland's southeastern coast, comprised multiple circulation-quality fifty-cent pieces distributed through general channels — an approach the RAM has used since the 1980s to push commemorative issues into everyday hands rather than collector packaging alone. KM#3469 is one of several distinct reverses in that release, each covering a different sport or Games emblem.
