| Reverse description | The original Stuart Devlin design for the Australian 50-cent coin is reproduced in celebration of the 50th anniversary of decimal currency. The central motif features the Australian Coat of Arms, depicting the quartered shield supported by a kangaroo to the left and an emu to the right, surmounted by the Commonwealth Star and a wreath of wattle. The large numeral 50 dominates the lower field, with the engraver's initials SD appearing discreetly at lower right. The entire design is rendered in fine detail on a gold-plated surface, faithful to Devlin's original 1966 conception. |
