Part of the Royal Australian Mint's 2016 "Legends of the Holden" series, this piece commemorates the FC Holden produced from 1958 to 1960 — the model that introduced the first fully Australian-designed body, moving away from the adapted American styling of earlier EJ and FJ generations. Pad printing, rather than conventional die engraving, was used to render the colour detail, a process the RAM had been refining on commemorative fifty-cent pieces for several years by this point.
