Reverse description The Royal Arms of Canada, as proclaimed by King George V on November 21, 1921 and updated in 1957, is centrally displayed. The quartered shield bears the arms of England, Scotland, Ireland, and France in the first through fourth quarters, with the distinctive Canadian sprig of maple leaves in base. The date is divided to the upper left and right of the shield, the country name CANADA arcs to the left, and the denomination 50 CENTS appears to the right, with the motto A MARI USQUE AD MARE inscribed along the lower periphery.
