| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of King Edward VII, draped in ermine-trimmed robes with an ornate clasp visible at the chest, engraved after the portrait model by George William de Saulles. The Imperial State Crown sits prominently atop the sovereign's head, rendered in fine relief with detailed jewelling and arches. A beaded border frames the entire field. The circumferential Latin legend reads EDWARDVS VII DEI GRATIA REX IMPERATOR, the designer's initials DES. appearing in small letters at the base of the truncation. |

| Reverse description | A symmetrical wreath of Canadian maple leaves, rendered in the Edwardian style by W.H.J. Blakemore, encircles the central field and is tied at the base with a ribbon bow. A small Imperial crown surmounts the wreath at the apex. Within the open centre of the wreath, the denomination 50 CENTS and the issuer name CANADA appear in two lines of bold serif lettering, with the date 1910 below, separated by a short rule. A beaded border runs along the inner rim. |
