Additional information

The Anglo-French Concorde program produced 20 production aircraft over a manufacturing run that ended in 1979, with British Airways and Air France operating the type until the July 2000 crash of Air France Flight 4590 fatally undermined public confidence. All aircraft were retired by October 2003. Solomon Islands has become a prolific issuer of themed collector pieces under licensing arrangements common to small Pacific sovereignties whose mint output is produced entirely by contracted European and Chinese private mints.
