Samuel Whiskers is a character from Beatrix Potter's 1908 book The Tale of Samuel Whiskers, in which a rat steals Tom Kitten and attempts to roll him into a roly-poly pudding. The Solomon Islands has issued novelty collector pieces under royal authority since the transition from Elizabeth II coinage, and the Charles III obverse makes this among the earliest Potter-themed issues to bear his effigy.
