Ivar the Boneless led the Great Heathen Army's invasion of England in 865 AD alongside his brothers, sacking York the following year and establishing Danish control over much of Northumbria. The epithet "Boneless" remains genuinely unexplained — proposed causes range from a connective tissue disorder to a kenning for sexual impotence, and no scholarly consensus exists.
The Solomon Islands has issued Charles III-effigy coins of this type prolifically since 2023, largely through the Pobjoy Mint and similar licensed distributors, targeting the collector market rather than circulation.
