| Reverse description | The fully colored reverse features a dramatic scene commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE-Day. A Royal Air Force Supermarine Spitfire is depicted in flight over the iconic White Cliffs of Dover, rendered in vivid polychrome color printing against a gold field. The Union Jack flag waves prominently in the upper left, while the numeral '80' appears in large format in the upper right of the field. The commemorative inscription 'VE-DAY' is boldly lettered along the lower portion of the design, with the anniversary dates '1945-2025' beneath it. |

| Additional information |
The Battle of Britain, fought between July and October 1940, was the first major military campaign conducted entirely by air forces. The RAF's victory — achieved partly through the newly operational Chain Home radar network — prevented a German invasion that Hitler had conditionally authorized under Operation Sea Lion. Charles III's connection to the commemorative is dynastic rather than personal; his mother, as Princess Elizabeth, famously served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service during the war years. The Solomon Islands, a Commonwealth member, has issued dozens of similar gold-plated iron pieces for the collector market with no circulation intent.
