Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, diademed and wearing a pearl necklace and drop earrings, as rendered by Dora de Pédery-Hunt. The portrait occupies the central field with the denomination '50 CENTS' inscribed to the left of the bust. The legend 'CANADA' arcs along the upper rim and 'ELIZABETH II' runs along the lower rim in incuse lettering. The proof finish imparts deep mirrored fields contrasting with frosted relief on the portrait.
