| Obverse description | Letterpress-printed emergency voucher in brown ink on plain paper stock, enclosed within a dotted-rule outer border and laid over an ocher geometric underprint. The note was originally prepared for the Ajuntament de Ponts, whose printed name is struck through and replaced in manuscript with the actual issuing municipality, with an official municipal stamp applied as validation. The printer's imprint "A. G. ILERDA – LLEIDA" appears at the lower margin. |

One of hundreds of small-denomination emergency notes issued by Catalan municipalities during the early months of the Civil War, when the collapse of normal coin circulation forced local councils to print their own fractional currency. The Republican government eventually moved to suppress these local emissions — finding them an administrative headache — but many municipalities kept issuing well into 1937 before centralized controls took hold.
Arts Gràfiques Ilerda was a Lleida-based commercial printer responsible for a significant portion of the Catalan municipal issues from the Lleida province. The Turró catalogue remains the definitive reference for these emissions, most of which survive only in small quantities given their purely local use and short validity.
