Uleila del Campo is a small municipality in Almería province, and like hundreds of other Spanish towns it was forced to print its own fractional currency during the Civil War after metallic coinage vanished from circulation almost entirely by mid-1936. The Consejo Municipal issues from this region tend to be among the more primitively produced — local printing resources in rural Almería were limited, and it shows.
