Torà de Riubregós is a small municipality in the Segarra comarca of Catalonia, and like hundreds of similar towns, it issued its own emergency fractional currency in the summer and autumn of 1936 after the outbreak of the Civil War drained metallic coinage from circulation almost overnight. The Republican government's inability to supply sufficient small change pushed this task down to the municipal level, producing thousands of distinct local issues across Catalonia alone.

Turró #2503 documents this emission, though surviving examples are scarce given the note's purely local utility and the disruption that followed Franco's consolidation of the region by early 1939.
