One of hundreds of small-denomination emergency notes produced by Catalan municipalities during the Civil War, when the collapse of small coin circulation forced local authorities to print their own fractional currency. Puig-alt de Ter is a small municipality in the comarca of Osona, and like most villages of its size, it contracted printing to a regional cooperative rather than managing the job locally — hence the Cooperativa d'Arts Gràfiques in nearby Ripoll.
The Turró catalog remains the definitive reference for this chaotic series. Many of these village emissions survived in tiny quantities; others were printed in such limited runs that fewer than a handful of examples are now traceable.
