Pins del Vallès is a small municipality in the Vallès Occidental comarca, and like hundreds of Catalan towns during the Civil War, it issued its own fractional currency after the withdrawal of Republican silver coinage from circulation in 1936–37 created a severe shortage of small change. These local emergency notes — *moneda municipal* — were sanctioned by the Generalitat de Catalunya and flooded out of every town hall with a printer nearby.
Indústries Gràfiques Viladot was a Barcelona commercial printer that handled a significant volume of these municipal issues during 1937. Turró's catalog documents this as a single-denomination emission for the municipality.
