Mura is a tiny municipality in the Bages comarca of Catalonia — population in the late 1930s measured in the hundreds, not thousands. During the Civil War, the collapse of small-denomination coinage across Republican-held territory forced even the most insignificant local councils to print their own emergency paper. Turró catalogs thousands of these Catalan municipal issues, and Mura's entry is among the most modest by scale of issuing authority.
Imprenta Rubiralta in Manresa was a workhorse printer for the comarca, handling multiple municipal emergency issues from the surrounding area during 1937.
