One of hundreds of emergency fractional notes — bitllets locals — issued by Catalan municipalities during the Spanish Civil War after the Republic's small change effectively vanished from circulation. Hoarding, melting, and the general collapse of normal commerce stripped towns of their coinage almost immediately after July 1936, forcing local councils to print their own scrip. Llinars del Vallès, a small town northeast of Barcelona, was no exception.

Gràfiques Unificades in Granollers produced notes for several Vallès municipalities during this period, which gives the series a degree of consistency unusual for wartime local issues. Turró catalogues this as #1350.
