La Manresana dels Prats is a small municipality in Anoia, and like hundreds of Catalan towns during the Civil War, it issued its own fractional paper money after the Republican government's 1936 decree authorizing local authorities to fill the coin vacuum caused by hoarding and metal requisitions. These municipal emissions were often printed in Barcelona by workshops operating under collectivized management — Grafos being among the more active of them.
Turró's catalog remains the authoritative reference for this chaotic class of local Spanish Civil War issues, where survival rates vary enormously by municipality and denomination.
