| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Juan Carlos I facing left, modelled in high relief with naturalistic detail. The legend JUAN CARLOS I REY DE ESPAÑA curves along the upper periphery, while the date 1980 appears in the lower field flanked by two small six-pointed stars. The mint year indicator '80' is incused within one of the stars, serving as the mintmark. The design is restrained and modern in style, engraved by Manuel Marín Jimeno. |
