| Obverse description | Plain letterpress note printed in black on cream paper, with a dense red dotted guilloche underprint filling the central field. The issuer's name 'Consejo Municipal de Jalón' appears in large bold type across the top, followed by the voucher text and denomination in decreasing type sizes. Jalón — a small agricultural town in the Marina Alta comarca of Valencia — was one of hundreds of Spanish municipalities forced to improvise fractional currency during the Civil War after Republican authorities failed to maintain adequate coin supplies. The Consejo Municipal issues of 1937 fill a gap that the central government in Valencia never adequately addressed, and Jalón's series is among the more obscure: Gari Montllor documented it, but surviving examples surface rarely enough that pricing remains inconsistent at auction.
The -B suffix in Gari Mon#787-B typically denotes a variant — most likely a paper stock or overprint difference from the base type, though the distinctions within this specific issue are minor.
