Ivorra is one of the smallest municipalities in Catalonia — population rarely above a few dozen — yet like hundreds of other Catalan towns it issued its own emergency paper money during the Spanish Civil War under the 1937 Generalitat decree that authorized local currency to address a catastrophic shortage of small change. The Iborra name in the denomination is simply a Catalan rendering of the town's name, not a separate issuing authority.
Turró catalogues this as #1272, placing it within the dense sequence of Catalan municipal issues. Given Ivorra's size, original print runs were almost certainly very small, and survival rates tend to be low for these minor municipal pieces — not from heavy use, but from postwar destruction and indifference.
